Naomh Mhuire

Naomh Mhuire LGFA was established in 2003. From humble beginnings with 60 members it now boasts over 600 registered members and fields 26 teams (from U6 to senior).

The goal of Naomh Mhuire LGFA is to promote and develop Ladies Gaelic Football in the local community. The adult team has progressed from Junior B to Senior grade in recent years - winning the Junior A county final in 2020 and the intermediate county final in 2021.

The underage section has more than doubled in size and the girl’s academy (age 4 to 10) is now one of the most vibrant sections of the club. The academy has over 250 girls playing in 5 groups with almost 60 voluntary coaches. The academy’s aim is to have as many girls playing as possible for as long as possible, as well as possible.

Following on from the great work at underage level, Naomh Mhuire players now wear the maroon of Galway at every level and they represent their club with distinction. The Gaelic4Mothers & Others programme started in 2013 and introduced mothers and other women to Ladies Gaelic Football in a fun, non-competitive and social environment.

Since 2019, Naomh Mhuire is now part of the Oranmore-Maree One Club (comprising Oranmore-Maree GAA Club, Oranmore-Maree Camogie Club & Naomh Mhuire Ladies Football Club) and looks forward to even further growth.

Naomh Mhuire continues to want all our players to enjoy playing football, to be proud to be part of Naomh Mhuire, to build lasting friendships and to achieve their potential in playing ladies gaelic football.
